RRB Technician Recruitment 2025 – 6,238 Vacancies Announced, Online Applications Open

The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB), under the Ministry of Railways, Government of India, has officially released the notification CEN No. 02/2025 for the recruitment of 6,238 Technician posts across various RRB zones in India. The online application process has begun on 28th June 2025 and will remain open until 28th July 2025. Candidates who are interested and meet the eligibility criteria can now apply through the official RRB recruitment portal.

Vacancy Details and Pay Scale

Under the RRB Technician Recruitment 2025, a total of 183 posts have been announced for Technician Grade-I Signal, while 6,055 posts are for Technician Grade-III positions. For the RRB Guwahati zone alone, 184 posts are allocated, which include 15 posts for Grade-I Signal and 169 posts for Grade-III. Candidates selected for Technician Grade-I Signal will be placed in Level-5 of the 7th CPC with a basic pay of ₹29,200, whereas Technician Grade-III posts fall under Level-2 of the 7th CPC, offering a basic pay of ₹19,900.

Eligibility Criteria for RRB Technician Posts

The age limit for Technician Grade-I Signal is between 18 to 33 years as of 1st July 2025, while for Technician Grade-III, candidates must be aged between 18 to 30 years. Reserved categories are eligible for age relaxation as per government norms—OBC-NCL candidates get a 3-year relaxation, SC/ST candidates get 5 years, and PwBD candidates receive relaxation ranging from 10 to 15 years depending on their category.

For educational qualification, Technician Grade-I Signal applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Electronics, Computer Science, IT, or Instrumentation, or a combination of these streams. Alternatively, they can possess a 3-year Diploma or Degree in Engineering in the same or related fields. For Technician Grade-III, the required qualification is Matriculation or SSLC along with ITI from an NCVT/SCVT recognized institution or a completed course under the Act Apprenticeship in the relevant trades.

Application Fee and Payment Methods

As per the notification, candidates from SC/ST, Ex-Servicemen, Female, Transgender, Minorities, and Economically Backward Classes will need to pay an application fee of ₹250, while all other candidates must pay ₹500. The examination fee can be paid online using Internet Banking, Debit/Credit Card, or UPI.

Application Process for RRB Technician Posts

Interested candidates must visit the official website of RRB and navigate to the “Online Application Form” link. After opening the form, applicants need to fill in all personal and academic details, upload a recent passport-sized photograph, signature, and any other required documents. The next step is to pay the examination fee and submit the application. It is advised to take a printout of the submitted application form for future reference.

Important Dates to Remember

The online application window opened on 28th June 2025, and the last date to apply is 28th July 2025. The exam dates will be announced soon after the application window closes.
